Math
Unity High School will place students in a Mathematics course appropriate to their individual readiness. New for 2020-2021 School Year! The following courses will be offered with an on site instructor: Geometry, Honors Geometry, Algebra 2, Honors Algebra 2
Student placed in courses other than the four listed above will utilize math courses offered through Apex Learning: Algebra 1; Mathematics 1, 2 and 3; Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus and AP Statistics. Students placed in Apex Math Courses will be offered support by the on site instructor.
On site courses will utilize a flipped classroom model. Students will view instructional videos and take notes outside of class time. Time in class will be utilized for students to practice skills and investigate topics at a deeper level of critical thinking. A strong emphasis will be placed on investigating real world uses for Mathematics. This model will aspire to fit the following parts of the Unity Mission:
Foreign Language
Currently, Spanish is being taught to all students with the exception of a few students who are using Apex Learning for different languages. Unity High School, using Apex Learning, ultimately will offer several foreign language options.
