Innovation & Purpose

Thousands of households in the South Metro area have high school-age children; many are well served by the existing large schools but it is highly likely there are a few students who would do better in a smaller school where the distractions are fewer, the choices are more limited, and the majority of the people in the building know your name. Unity High School proposes to provide a solid Catholic education at an affordable cost, and at the same time show the students the importance of character, leadership and service as it is to focus on academics. Furthermore, Unity High School builds its entire educational approach on the Incarnation of our Lord, Jesus Christ.

Unity High School hopes to teach the value of service/community outreach, leadership, character, academics and communication. In a world that is inundated with technology, knowledge comes at a much cheaper price than it used to. By creating a culture that seeks to cultivate the human person, UHS wants to prepare the leaders of tomorrow by providing ample opportunity for the students to step outside of themselves and the classroom to serve those in need in order to learn what it takes to become an active and engaged citizen.

The UHS faculty will get an opportunity to grow professionally that they will not be able to get at many other schools. The small school environment will give them an opportunity to work extensively with individual students, seeing them through challenges. Teachers will work with each other to integrate their distinct courses into a coordinated overall curriculum.

In addition, Unity High School will depend on the involvement of the parents of its students. UHS faculty and staff recognize parents as an essential and lead player in the education of their children. Parents will be thoroughly informed about their student’s engagement at UHS, both in the classroom and in extracurricular rolls. In addition to opportunities to serve on the board, its committees and on the Parent/Teacher Organization, parents will be invited to provide input into some classroom endeavors and will be largely responsible for the execution of the school’s extracurricular pursuits.
